Huraa Island aerial view — Kaafu Atoll Maldives
Our Story

A Small Guesthouse
With A Clear Point of View

There are a lot of ways to experience the Maldives. You can spend $1,500 a night at a water villa and never leave the resort. You can spend $35 a night in a room that makes you regret saving money.

We built Serenity Stay because we believed there was a third option — and that it was not actually complicated. Comfortable beds. A proper breakfast. A private beach. A location that does not require a seaplane. A genuinely interesting island outside your door. Four rooms so we can pay attention to the people in them.

That is the whole idea.

The Property

Serenity Stay sits in the Maaz area of Huraa Island — a small, traditional fishing community in Kaafu Atoll, 18 kilometres north of Malé. We have four air-conditioned guestrooms, a garden, and private beach access. Breakfast is included every morning. We are 20 minutes from the airport by speedboat.

We are not trying to compete with the Four Seasons on the adjacent island. We are trying to offer something the Four Seasons cannot: the feeling of being a guest on a real Maldivian island, in a room that was genuinely prepared for you, at a price that does not require a second mortgage.

The Island

Huraa is one of our favourite things about Serenity Stay. It is a living community — fishing boats in the harbour, boat-builders at work, mangroves at the edge of town, a beach that belongs to everyone. The island has been here long before tourism found it, and it will be here long after any particular travel trend moves on.

When guests ask us what to do, we usually say: start by walking. The whole island takes about twenty minutes. After that, you will know what you want to do next.

Our Approach

We do not have a front desk open around the clock. We do not have a spa menu or a poolside cocktail list. What we have is a small, carefully kept guesthouse where the beds are excellent, the breakfast is good, the beach is right there, and the people running it actually care whether you had a good stay.

We ask for 48 hours notice before check-in because we want to be ready for you — not because we are running a bureaucratic operation. Small means personal. We think that is a feature.

"We are new, and we know that means you are trusting us on faith. We take that seriously. Every detail in these rooms — the mattress, the breakfast, the private beach — was chosen with that trust in mind."
